To create a sustainable food environment for community access in the Greater Derry Region

Who we are

A collaborative group of diverse stakeholders, addressing the root causes of hunger and promoting equitable and sustainable solutions to nourish the Greater Derry Region and strengthen existing local food systems.

What we do

Identify community needs in the Greater Derry Region by hearing from community members and organizations.

  • Collaborates with 6 surrounding towns of Greater Derry

  • The GDFC identifies community needs in the Greater Derry Region though community members and organizations

  • Reduce barriers to food and nutrition services

  • Provide access to food resources

  • Strengthen collaborations between agencies, schools and systems to increase local access to food

  • Be a visible and responsive system of food access in the Greater Derry Region

We added 3 new schools to this years School Breakfast Challenge AND Senator Hassan visited Hampstead Middle School to celebrate this year!

Words about a partner

NH Hunger Solutions is a food access nonprofit focusing on four priority areas:

1. Engage in policy advocacy to close the gap between those eligible for and those enrolled in federal nutrition programs (SNAP, School Meals, Summer Meals, WIC)

2. Work with schools and communities to increase participation in school meals

3. Increase public awareness of the causes of and solutions to hunger in New Hampshire

4. Engage in coalition building among existing and emerging food access councils and coalitions
